Meet the Trainer Behind
High Desert Equestrian
Ready to take your riding to the next level?
Let's build a program that works for you and your horse.
About High Desert Equestrian
High Desert Equestrian is dedicated to developing balanced confident horses and educated effective riders through thoughtful dressage-based training. Based in Southern Utah, my program focuses on creating long-term success through correct fundamentals, clear communication, and individualized training tailored to each horse and rider.
My Experience & Specialization
I have been riding and training horses since 2008, with a competitive background in dressage, eventing, and show jumping. I specialize in working with green horses, off-track Thoroughbreds, and horses requiring retraining or rehabilitation—developing them from foundational work through First and Second Level.
My program is built on a strong foundation of continuing education. I regularly train with FEI-level professionals, including ongoing work with dressage trainer Renee Johnson. Through mentorship and consistent clinic participation, I continue to refine my system and bring a high standard of training to every horse and rider I work with. I’m passionate about helping horses and riders build confidence, clarity, and a true partnership—both in and out of the show ring.
Proven Results
My training has produced consistent results both in and out of the show ring, including:
-
WDAA Bronze Medal recipient
-
Multiple first-place finishes at USDF and WDAA recognized competitions
-
High Point Champion awards at recognized shows across Utah and Nevada
-
Development of horses from green to Second Level
Training Philosophy
At High Desert Equestrian, training is centered around building a correct foundation, clear communication, and a true partnership between horse and rider.
I believe that lasting progress comes from developing balance, responsiveness, and understanding—not shortcuts or quick fixes. Every horse is trained as an individual, with a program tailored to their physical ability, mindset, and stage of development.
Whether I’m working with a young horse, a challenging project, or a rider looking to advance through the levels, my goal is to create confidence, consistency, and long-term success both in and out of the show ring.
Education Beyond the Arena
At its core, High Desert Equestrian is built on creating confident horses and confident riders—through trust, understanding, and correct training that lasts.
I also share training tips, ride-throughs, and educational content on my YouTube channel, High Desert Equestrian, to help riders continue learning outside of their lessons.
Who I help
I work with riders who want to improve their horse's rideability, build confidence, and create long-term success-whether they are starting a young horse or progressing through the levels.
If you're looking for correct, consistent training that creates real results, you're in the right place
